ESP32-S3 1.8 inch Touch AMOLED Display board with AI audio support

The Waveshare ESP32-S3-Touch-AMOLED-1.8 is a cutting-edge development board with a small plastic casing that houses an ESP32-S3 microprocessor, a bright 1.8-inch AMOLED screen, and integrated AI audio capabilities. With its 178° viewing angle and 100,000:1 contrast ratio, the AMOLED display is this devkit's most notable feature. A built-in microphone and speaker also enable AI-driven speech recognition, which makes it a perfect option for AI-driven and Internet of Things applications.

The board's main features include an ES8311 low-power audio codec for high-quality mono sound, a PCF85063 RTC for timekeeping, and a QMI8658 6-axis IMU for motion detection. While the USB-C port offers power and programming capabilities, the ESP32-S3 guarantees Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity. With support for both USB-C and an optional lithium battery, the AXP2101 power management IC maximises battery utilisation. The use of GPIO, I2C, and UART pads enables expansion.

Both the Arduino IDE and the ESP-IDF framework support the board, and Waveshare's wiki offers extra resources including ESP32 board packages, libraries, and sample code. Additionally, it can access a variety of large models for AI-driven speech tasks and supports offline voice recognition. This new devkit offers a more extensive feature set, making it more appropriate for IoT and AI applications than the ESP32-S3-AMOLED-1.91, which likewise has an AMOLED display but does not include audio functionality.

A 3.7V MX1.25 Lithium battery is supplied with the Waveshare ESP32-S3-Touch-AMOLED-1.8, which retails for $26.59 on AliExpress, $36.99 on Amazon, and $29.99 at the Waveshare shop.
